Merry Christmas everyone. Ok its been just a lil bit more then a month (35 days) since I decided to hang up the old McDonalds badge, take my lil $100 savings and become a heads up pro lol. So far its been a great investment. here are my results so far.
Games Played: 695
Avg. Profit Per game: $2.68
Avg. Stake: $20
Avg. ROI: 15%
Total Profit: $1865
Although I am somewhat satisfied with my results thus far I still feel like I have a huge room for improvement. I am considering buying a few heads up videos from Hokiegreg just so that I can incorrporate a few more plays into my current arsenal. Hopefully i can get my ROI up to 22% by the end of January. I'll keep you posted.
Current Roll: $1965 (1.965% there lol)

I Pwn 4 Mans
I've been 2 tabling the $11 4 mans today and so far my stats are unreal.
Games Played: 15
Avg. Stake: $11
Avg Profit: $17.8
Avg ROI.: 155%
Total Profit: $268
Obviously I know that such a high ROI. is not sustainable but my lifetime stats for 4 mans are as follows
Games Played: 219
Avg. Stake: $19
Avg Profit: $5.6
Avg Roi: 34%
Total Profit: $1,233
I am trying to figure out why my 4 man stats are so much insanely better then my 2 man stats. Here are a couple reasons I have thought of
1-My sample size is to small and will even out eventually
2-I am insanely hard to beat in the second round by the players at this low level because of my bets and the increased stack sizes
3-My ROI is just naturally higher in 4 mans
Whatever the reason may be hu. 4 man turbos are definitely my best game. I will be two tabling the $11 ones for the next few days to properly Beta Test the variance and EV of this game. I will post my conclusions in a later post.

Variance Is A *****
A failure is a man who has made mistakes, but is not able to cash in on the experience. So I am not going to do the typical rant (that everyone does) about how I've been running so bad and poker gods must hate me so much and how I am the unluckiest person in the world. Because quite frankly we all go through the same slumps and coolers its just part of poker. Variance is a ho that messes with everyone lol. Its just how you deal with her that seperates the good players from the great players. So rather then complain I am going to take advantage of her and use her to enhance myself more as a player. I also realize that my slump is not entirely due to the fact that I've had a really bad run of cards (although mostly it is due to that fact) but I'm going to keep it real....I have not played a few hands particulary well. I really need to work on
1-How to play small pocket pairs on raised pots out of position during the early blind levels
2-All in Calling ranges during the 25/50 blind levels when the villain has between 600-1000 chips and just keeps going all in randomly(I am going to be studying The SAGE. System for the next two days maybe this will help)
3-How to better play super Aggro. players during the early blind levelsI know that every player is different and no set system is guaranteed to work 100% of the time but Aristotle said it best "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit"I believe that this is true for a lot of things in life particuarly poker so I will continue to beta test new techniques and winning strategies until I am able to almost always play each hand I come accross in every scenario flawlessly. I will also be posting the hand histories of hands I feel meet this criteria.

Streaky Day
I started out today playing 4 mans and I ran horribly (6 straight 2nd places) I Decided to stop playing 4 mans for a while and stick to 2 mans and won 7 out of my last 8 games. I wont be back online to later tonight because wifey really wants to go the the movies. Hopefully I can get 10 games in when I get home.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds
Ok I posted my goal on 2+2 and the standard response from everyone is my goal is "impossible to reach", "I need to take a bunch of risks to make it", "my guidlines are to tight"....etc But guess what nothing would ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome. So after absolutely no consideration of what the peanut gallery had to say I have decided to stick to my current guidlines and grind even harder. F the haters lol. Aristotle said it best "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit". So I'm just going to try and get better and better each game I play by studying my hand histories and fixing all my leaks until not only I reach my goal but I am the best player in which I can possibly be. My goal will be accomplished.

The Goal
My name is Jay im 22 years old a student at community college and I currently work at mickey D's...I make $140 a week working there so needless to say I need a new way of making money. My dream is to own my own business. I need $100,000 to open up a videogame lounge (I will elaborate on this idea more on a later post) Well with that said my goal is to turn my tiny $100 bankroll into $100,000 in one year playing heads up poker on pokerstars. I began this challenge on November 21, 2008 now its December 16,2008 and my roll is up to $1,542. So far i have only been playing hu $11.50 and $23.00 turbos. My current win rate so far is 57% for 2 mans and 33% for 4 mans. Hopefully I can improve this to 60% and 36% with a bit more practice. But here are the rules for this challenge.Rule 1- I am only allowed to Play games in which I have more then 60 buy ins for.Rule 2- I am not allowed to cash out more then 5% of my total roll per month until the challenge is complete.Rule 3- I must play a minimum of 500 games per month. ( I will try to play 1000 most months)Well wish me luck guys I will try to update you on my progress daily.Pokerstars alias: bighusla
